SID and Display Week are a venue for research, not a verdict

How it works

SID is a membership society, not a manufacturer or a single research lab. Its own page states its mission as working to “propagate electronic display and other visual information technologies from concept to market, to sustain a thriving industry,” and its Information Display page describes its bimonthly magazine, stating that “six times a year, Information Display delivers the latest display-related articles to the industry's most qualified readership base,” organized into named feature categories such as Frontline Technology and Enabling Technology that carry peer-submitted research and industry analysis, including work on light-field and metasurface displays published elsewhere through the society's Journal of SID and Digest proceedings.

Viewing conditions and limits

As a living institution rather than a dated event, SID's scope and scale are subject to change; the figures above reflect the society's own site as retrieved on 16 September 2026, not a fixed, permanent measure of the conference's size. What it is not
